Our base in Birmingham
Chief Fire Safety is based at Apex House, Edgbaston Rd, Birmingham B15 1TR, from where we coordinate site surveys, installations and servicing visits across the wider region. Being based centrally in the West Midlands means reasonable travel times to most of the areas we cover, whether that’s a single visit to inspect fire doors or an ongoing servicing contract across a portfolio of sites.

Fire safety and security services available across our coverage area
The same core services are available everywhere we work. Fire risk assessments identify what a premises needs and form the starting point for most of the work we do. From there, most commercial buildings need some combination of a fire alarm system, covering installation, servicing and maintenance, monitoring, commissioning and zone plans, alongside fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, fire doors and fire-stopping and passive fire protection.
Many of our clients also ask us to cover commercial intruder alarms and intruder alarm monitoring alongside their fire safety work, so that security and fire protection are handled by the same contractor rather than two separate ones. Fire safety requirements don’t change by postcode. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 places the same duties on the responsible person for a commercial building in Worcester as it does in Walsall, and the record-keeping duties added under the Building Safety Act 2022 apply equally across our whole coverage area. What does change is the mix of building types, the local fire and rescue service, and sometimes the planning constraints on older or listed premises, and we factor all of that into the work we recommend.
